I'm first and foremost a mom of two beautiful boys on the autism spectrum, whom I refer to as my autistic angels. I feel they are absolute blessings, for they have taught me so much and they have helped me to be who I am today. Caring for an autistic child is a heavy workload that includes lots of appointments, therapies, meetings and a ton of energy to keep up with them. Not to mention the lack of sleep and need to be prepared for just about anything that can happen. But with enough hard work, dedication, love, and lots of patience, they can really surprise you. Hence why I always say it's an adventure. My youngest actually came up with the nickname "Butterfly Angel" as I have such a love for butterflies and in his words 'you're the best and you're an angel too mom!'. They truly do inspire me more than they realize.
As far back as I can remember, I have always had a love for art, drawing, and everything creative. In my down time you can find me making jewelry, drawing, painting, or experimenting with new types of art supplies. Both my boys enjoy making new creations of their own as well. When we aren't working on creations, we enjoy nature. Together we go to nature parks and such to walk, see wildlife, and collect things. Our collections include rocks, leaves, driftwood, and shells just to name a few. When possible I try to incorporate some of these items in the creations I make. After all, nature gives us so many beautiful and unique gifts; to us they are as precious as diamonds.
As I previously said, autism can be quite an adventure. I actually began a blog and Facebook page to share our journey with others as we go. I do so with the hope to help others understand autism and perhaps spread some awareness along the way. Together we take it one day at a time, but we also take the time to unwind with creativity and all the beauty nature has to offer. My inspiration for my creations mostly comes from nature, my boys and the people I create them for. So now I am bringing some of those creations to all of you which I sell on Etsy. My goal is to be able to bring a smile to you or your loved ones or perhaps capture your ideas in a personalized sign just for you. Thank you to all my family, friends and loved ones who encouraged me to chase my dreams. Believe in your dreams and they will come true!
